At the start of July 2011, the Cluster 6 Art and Design Networked Learning Committee hosted First Impressions, a five-day art exhibiton at Citis Square, Berakas. Cluster 6 consists of local artists from Katok Sixth Form Centre (PTEK), Meragang Sixth Form Centre (PTEM), Duli Pengiran Muda Al Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli), Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College and Sayyidina Othman Secondary School, Tutong. Those who attended First Impressions (myself included) enjoyed the artwork by over 100 students.

My First Impressions? There was good use of space and lighting, the background music was abstract and the artwork was not amateurish...in fact, it was very good. I was impressed. Some students were right in the middle of their craft, some proudly stood at a distance watching the crowds enjoy their work. The Borneo Bulletin recently reported that close to $3,000 was raised from art sales with proceeds going to the Japan tsunami and earthquake fund and to SMARTER Brunei.
I am looking forwards to the next one. If you are reading this and would like to have your artwork (or a friend's artwork) featured on Projek Brunei, send me an email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
