The Artsy Rainforest Gallery Bazaar

Greetings Readers! I have been blogging now for over 18 months and sometimes I write about places worth visiting. So far I have written about Thien Thien Restaurant, Kuro Dezaina, Thann Sanctuary Spa and Icklebooks just to name a few. I am always on the lookout for local unknown 'treasures' and every now and then I get lucky. In the case of Rainforest Gallery, Kiulap I had heard about it from a friend long before I got to visit the place for myself. Their Facebook account says they have "Arts & Crafts Classes for Kids & Adults", "Artworks & Art Supplies", "Arts & Craft Events and Kids Parties" and "Handmade & Imported Jewellery, Hair Accessories & Gifts". I found out about their Bazaar and made it a point to visit.

On Sunday 27th November 2011, they hosted over 15 independent stalls within their gallery. It ran from 10.00am until 5.00pm and it was so worth the visit. It was not a run of the mill type of bazaar. The event seemed well thought out and it felt as though the vendors present had been hand-picked; I liked that a lot. The words that came to mind after I left were "art" and "*Melbourne-vibe" (*those who have visited a street-market in Melbourne would know what I mean). I also had a chance to speak to Denise (one of the owners) and she shared that Rainforest Gallery was privileged to host a great variety of vendors and that the timing was right for the bazaar.

I hope to get to know the folks at Rainforest Gallery better and would definitely like to see another bazaar in the near future!

Check them out for yourself.
