Greetings Readers! Last week a few of us were invited to check out the brand new bowling centre in the Airport Mall. I have always considered bowling good 'old-fashioned' fun...a form of entertainment seemingly scarce in today's world of touch screens, light-weight tablets and super-duper micro processors. The only times you interact with technology is when you key in your names / team names and look at the screen for your turn or your points.

Greetings Readers. Today I was invited to Deseo's 3rd Anniversary which featured previews of their latest collections in women's fashion and the finalists in their talent search contest. Deseo means "desire" in Spanish and their Facebook Fan Page says they "are a one-stop shop to buy what you desire for yourself, your family, your friends and your home" The boast that their "clothing line ranges from simple casual clothes to trendy fashion-wear to elegant evening dresses to chic office attire to theme party accessories and costumes." The place was packed full of customers, supporters, fans and participants of their talent search.

Here are some photographs from the event.

Ahh, food. Glorious food. Food is the great connector of people and cultures. Food is the levelling ground for discussion. Food is part of the foreplay before intimacy. Food brings people together. Food is central to family time and family moments all across the world. Food fills the silence between conversations. The Brunei Hotel knows this so well and they are currently revamping their menu at Choices Restaurant. In fact, they have proudly announced weekly changes to their menu to include both Western and Asian favourites.

Greetings Readers! Over the weekend I visited TechXpo 2011 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas. This was Brunei's second Technology Expo (last year's recorded over 50 thousand visitors) and according to the official website, "it provides a perfect platform for all products and services related to technology across the globe to see the trends, developments and ideas associated with technology". The expo aimed to:

1. "...create an expo that focuses on all types of technology which will be a gathering of all who are into technology business, industry and research and development"

2. "...provide the perfect platform for all players in the technology industry may it be local or international to introduce and promote their products and services to the Brunei community in particular"

3. "...provide a venue where people may be introduced to the latest technologies and inventions in all areas of technology"

I must admit that I only spent about an hour at the ICC so I did not have time to talk to vendors, try out any gadgets, flick any switches or push any buttons. I looked hard, but I did not notice any robots in disguise. For a more in depth look into the TechXpo, check out the blog of their official blogger, www.RanoAdidas.com

Here are some photographs from my visit.
